Opto-Coupled I/O Lines#
Characteristics#
- Opto-coupled I/O lines are preconfigured to operate as input or output. You can't change the line mode of opto-coupled lines.
- If your camera has opto-coupled lines, one of them is always a dedicated input line and another a dedicated output line.
- Opto-coupled I/O lines have the advantage of being considerably more robust against EMI than GPIO lines.
- Opto-coupled I/O lines have longer propagation delays (response times) compared to GPIO lines.
- The minimum required pulse width for input triggers is longer compared to GPIO lines. Make sure to provide sufficient time for the camera's input circuit to react. For most cases, a pulse width of 100 μs should be long enough.
Common Tasks#
Task | Feature |
---|---|
Determining the current status of one or all opto-coupled I/O lines (high / low) | Line Status |
Configuring triggered image acquisition | Triggered Image Acquisition |
Selecting an output signal for an opto-coupled I/O line | Line Source |
Inverting all input or output signals (high -> low, low -> high) | Line Inverter |
